Privacy policy
Effective 20 October 2026
Bedug is a prayer-times app published by Ardeman. This policy explains what data the app and this website use, and why. Bedug has no account and no server of its own, so your data stays on your device.
In short
- No account, no sign-up, no Bedug server.
- Your location is used on your device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla.
- Your settings are stored only on your device.
- On Android and iOS, Google AdMob shows ads until you give an infaq.
- This website uses no cookies and no analytics.
Data the app uses
Location. With auto detect on, Bedug asks your device for its location to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. The coordinates are used on your device and are not sent to us. To show your city's name, Bedug uses your device's built-in geocoding service, which sends the coordinates to Apple (on iOS and macOS) or Google (on Android); see the Apple and Google privacy policies. If you turn auto detect off and pick a city, Bedug doesn't use your location.
Compass. The Qibla compass reads your device's heading sensor. The reading is used on your device only.
Settings. Your calculation method, city, language, theme and notification choices are stored on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the app.
Notifications. Adhan notifications are scheduled on your device. No server sends them.
Ads
Bedug for Android and iOS shows ads from Google AdMob. Bedug for macOS, Windows and Linux shows no ads. AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier, your IP address and how you interact with ads, to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Where the law requires it, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Bedug asks for your consent with Google's consent form before showing personalized ads. On iOS, Bedug asks for your permission to track. If you decline, you see only non-personalized ads, and you can change your choice later in the app.
Once you give an infaq, Bedug stops showing ads.
Infaq
In the Android and Apple apps, an infaq is an in-app purchase handled by Google Play or the App Store. We don't receive your payment details. The app only learns whether the purchase succeeded and stores that on your device to turn the ads off.
An infaq through Trakteer or Ko-fi is handled by that service under its own privacy policy. It shares with us only what you choose to give, such as a name and a message.
This website
bedug.ardeman.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts, and serves its fonts itself. It is hosted on Cloudflare, and Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver and protect the site; see the Cloudflare privacy policy.
Children
Bedug is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Your choices
You can turn location off and pick a city instead, turn notifications off, change your ad consent, and remove all of Bedug's data by uninstalling the app. We keep no data about you on any server, so there is nothing for us to export or delete.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top.
